I certainly would have added Tom Peters Brand You 50 in '99 as a definative event - certainly what started me on the whole personal branding direction. There are so many books out there on the subject that its difficult to include others. But again personally I would have left off Montoya's first one (just a dreadful read), especially as his 2nd book - The Brand Called You is excellent in comparison and came out just a year later. Also for those taking the subject to new areas - Robin Fisher Roffer - Make a Name for Yourself for specifically writing for women and D'Alessandro's Career Warfare for using personal branding inside a corporation is entertaining with some good tips would also be good timelines. Just my toonies worth! Dan

Nice visual on the personal branding timeline. I certainly would have added Tom Peters Brand You 50 in ‘99 as a definative event – certainly what started me on the whole personal branding direction.
