I Liked a lot this article.
Like a brand a personnal brand must have a clear promise. I do think the intensity of the promise makes the efficiency of the personnal brand. And I maybe Sarah Lacy's has buid a great personnal brand on a simple but powerful promise : reconciliate the traditional media industry with the web 2.0 that pricesely challenges old media.

I enjoyed reading this. Let me ask you, though: Was this an email to email interview? It looks like you sent her a list of questions and she answered? If that's the case, the boldened and underlined words are her creation?

@ A.J. - I didn't want to focus the interview on the "Zuckerberg fiasco" because it has been written about 100 million times. I was more interested in how she's built her personal brand, as it relates to this blog.

@ Shel - Thank you.

@ Greg - Glad you understood.

Glad to see you focus on Sarah's success and the time it took to get her to that point. And contrary to what A.J said, I think its good you stayed away from the SXSW story and got real information and made a good story out of it. Good work Dan!

This isn't just the best you've done in this series, Dan. It's the best interview I've seen on Sarah Lacy, one of Silicon Valley's most interesting and controversial media members.

How can you interview Sarah Lacy about her personal branding and not ask about the Zuckerberg interview fiasco?

Surely there is some relevance there...
What did she do wrong?
How did she handle the situation?
What have been the implications of having an extraordinarily unflattering article be in the top 3 search results for "Sarah Lacy"?
How has Sarah Lacy worked to change her personal brand in the aftermath of the Zuckerberg interview?
